Two teams that showed a lot of promise in their opening games but then stumbled along the way in their campaign, Triumph Knights Mumbai North East and ARCS Andheri, will clash on Wednesday in a bid to get back to winning ways. Only one will succeed at the end of the day, but expect both to come into the game with everything they have. Here is a look at how the teams stack up.
Raada No. 7: Triumph Knights Mumbai North East vs ARCS Andheri
After a convincing win in their first game, Triumph Knights Mumbai North East paid the price for their over reliance on Akash Parkar. The all-rounder’s loss of form in the second game put the team in trouble and they were unable to find much success, either with the bat or with the ball. At least one of their top three will need to stay till the end and give a late impetus to the innings in case Parkar stays out of touch in the next game. Their bowling was tight, but not aggressive enough to pick up wickets, which will need to change if they are to challenge the ARCS. Player to watch: Vinayak Bhoir.
On Tuesday, ARCS Andheri looked a shadow of the side which romped home to victory by 23 runs in the league opener. They were beaten comprehensively in both departments and left struggling for answers without their star performer Shubham Ranjane. If he can make a comeback from injury in Wednesday’s clash it will improve the team’s chances tremendously. But in his absence, it will take at least one other player to stand up and make the difference, something which the team sorely missed against NaMo Bandra Blasters. Kya Bolta Hai-
Both teams will have gone back to the drawing board and made strategies to combat the sudden dip in form they experienced in their games on Tuesday. For ARCS, if Ranjane doesn’t make a comeback, things could get very difficult, especially since the rest of their batsmen have failed to make any sort of mark in the league so far. Triumph Knights are a compact unit and will want to prove there is more to their team than all-rounder Akash Parkar. Expect them to have the upper hand in Ranjane’s absence.
